In this review I’ll be looking at Fyrinnae loose eyeshadow singles in the shades Cheetah, Hot Chocolate Euphoria, Bawdy Librarian, Faust, Knickers in a Twist, and Polar Bear.
This brown eyelook was created with Cheetah and Hot Chocolate Euphoria all over the lid, Bawdy Librarian and Faust in the crease, Knickers in a Twist in the outer corner of the eye, and Polar Bear on the brow bone. All shadows were applied over Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy and Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden. Also used were Stila Stay All Day liquid eyeliner in intense black and Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara.
Fyrinnae Cheetah is a shimmery loose eyeshadow. This shade was a part of the limited edition endangered species collection and is currently not being sold. The shadow is a light golden beige with a shimmer.
This shade gives a smooth metallic coating with not complete opaque but buildable coverage. I used the shadow with a glitter primer to bring out the shimmer, but I think it would also work fine with a regular primer. This shade had very little fallout and lasted all day with primer. I like this shadow as a base shade for neutral eye looks.
A nice shimmery to metallic shade with smooth buildable coverage
Fyrinnae Hot Chocolate Euphoria is a shimmery loose eyeshadow that sells for $2.95USD for a mini jar or $6.95USD for a full sized jar on Fyrinnae’s website. According to Fyrinnae, this shade is a “glimmering dark hot chocolate brown with a swirl of marshmallow cream, topped with blue and green sprinkles (sparkles).” The shadow is more of a medium brown with a lot of cool toned sparkle so that the whole shadow appears cool-toned.
This shadow actually had pretty smooth application despite being quite glittery. However, it didn’t have the same pigmentation that many of the other Fyrinnae loose eyeshadows had, requiring multiple layers to achieve opaque coverage. There was some fallout from all the glitter when applied, but once it was adhered to the lid it did not have fallout. The shade also lasted all day without creasing or fading.
A pretty color but has some issues with pigmentation and fallout
Fyrinnae Bawdy Librarian is a shimmery loose eyeshadow that sells for $2.95USD for a mini jar or $6.95USD for a full sized jar on Fyrinnae’s website. Fyrinnae describes this shade as a “lush, shimmery golden brown rich with warm sparkle. The shadow is a warm toned medium brown with an obvious gold sparkle.
This shade applies smoothly and blends well with other colors. It has a nice neutral tone that’s great for everyday, but the golden sparkle spices it up a bit. This shadow’s pigmentation gives it opaque coverage in one layer. I didn’t experience much fallout during application and did not experience any fallout once it was on the lid. This shade performed fine with regular primer, but it can also be used with glitter primer to bring out the sparkle.
A good everyday neutral with shimmer for flair
Fyrinnae Faust is a shimmery loose eyeshadow that sells for $2.95USD for a mini jar or $6.95USD for a full sized jar on Fyrinnae’s website. Fyrinnae describes this shade as a “rich, shimmery brown with a somewhat metallic finish and golden hue without being overly warm.” This shadow has an obvious golden sparkle but is overall more of a cool-toned medium brown.
This shade applied smoothly and reached opacity in one layer. The golden sparkle of the shadow can be seen when just using regular primer, but using glitter primer gives the shadow more of a metallic finish. I didn’t experience much fallout when applying it and no fallout after it was on. This shadow lasted all day over primer.
A versatile neutral with great application and pigmentation
Fyrinnae Knickers in a Twist is a shimmery loose eyeshadow that sells for $2.95USD for a mini jar or $6.95USD for a full sized jar on Fyrinnae’s website. Fyrinnae describes this shade as a “deep taupe with subtle bronze shimmer.” I would describe this shade as more of a sepia. The color has a sort of gray cast that gives it an overall more cool-tone.
I found this shade to have a lot less sparkle than many of the other Fyrinnae shades. It had an almost matte finish but with a very subtle shimmer, so glitter primer didn’t make much difference in its performance. The pigmentation was good with very opaque coverage, but the shade didn’t apply as smoothly as other shades — the application turned patchy at times. Once the shade was applied in a uniform layer, it did fade well and was crease resistant throughout the day.
Good pigmentation but some patchiness and fallout
Fyrinnae Polar Bear is a shimmery loose eyeshadow that sells for $2.95USD for a mini jar or $6.95USD for a full sized jar on Fyrinnae’s website. According to Fyrinnae, this shade is a “pale gold, shimmery and soft.” This shadow is a white-gold with a shimmery to metallic finish.
For being a rather pale shade, this shadow had surprisingly good pigmentation and was able to cover darker colors. The application was very smooth, and the fallout was minimal. This shade applied fine over regular primer, but glitter primer gave it more of a metallic look. While this is a light shade, I think it’s a little too dark and opaque to use as a highlighter.
A beautiful shade with very smooth application and minimal fallout
