Fyrinnae Exquisites Swatches

Fyrinnae Exquisites, like the Fyrinnae Arcane Magics, are specialty color shifting eyeshadows that change hue depending on the light hitting them . However, these shades lack the opaque base that the Arcane Magics have, and they tend to have a more pronounced color shift. Many of them have more of a straight glitter consistency as opposed to a powder. Most of the exquisites retail for $8.40USD for a full sized jar or $3.15USD for a mini jar, but the newer shades are more expensive at $15.00USD for a full size and $4.25USD for a mini. This is due to the newer shades having much more expensive colorants. All exquisites can be purchased here.

In order to get these shades to apply well and show off their color shift, they pretty much need a glitter primer. Many of the shades are almost straight up glitter and will barely adhere without glitter primer. The newer shades in the line adhere better without glitter primer, but really don’t show much of their color shift without it. Fyrinnae sells their own glitter primer, Pixie Epoxy ($7.00USD), that works quite nicely. However, there are many more glitter primers on the market like Too Faced Glitter Glue that will work as well.

In an attempt to capture the color changing effect of these shadows, the arm swatches were taken with and without flash photography (note that the eye swatch was taken without flash). Keep in mind, though, that the color shift tends to be much more apparent in person.
