Notoriously Morbid Loose Eyeshadow Singles Swatches

Notoriously Morbid loose eyeshadow singles are loose pigments that come in a variety of colors and finishes. The loose shadows come in three different plastic jar sizes with a mini jar retailing for $2.75USD, a full sized jar retailing for $5.50USD, and a deluxe jar retailing for $7.50USD. All Notoriously morbid loose eyeshadow singles can be found on Notoriously Morbid’s website as well as through some indie cosmetics boutiques.

As a whole, Notoriously Morbid loose eyeshadows apply better over eyeshadow primer. On bare skin, they tend to lack vibrancy, especially lighter colors. Primer helps to make the color stand out more and apply evenly to the eyelid. With the exception of especially glittery or duochrome shades, regular primer without glitter primer will suffice.

Notoriously Morbid frequently lists their eyeshadow singles as part of a larger collection. The collections are often based on popular culture, such as their Slay Me collection, a collection based on the TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Although listed in the collection, all eyeshadow singles are still available for individual purchase. Swatches below are sorted by collection with shades within the collection listed alphabetically.

General Eyeshadows

Kinda Ugly

Kinda Ugly is a gray-green with a shimmery finish. Swatched on eyelid over Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden. A muted medium green verging on gray. It shows up decently on bare skin but tends to apply smoother over primer. Note that this shade is not available for regular purchase, but it is frequently included with an order as a gift with purchase.

It shows up decently on bare skin but tends to apply smoother over primer. Note that this shade is not available for regular purchase, but it is frequently included with an order as a gift with purchase.

Winchester Gospels Collection

A collection inspired by the TV show Supernatural

Scotland the Brave

Scotland the Brave is a duochrome blue-violet over a juniper green base . Swatched on eyelid over Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden and Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy. The shift is not super apparent — the color is generally a grayish green due to the blue violet over the green base. The color does’t show up very well or apply very evenly on bare skin, so it works best with primer. Glitter primer can help bring out the shift a little more but doesn’t make a huge difference compared to regular primer.

Visions

Visions is a duochrome electric yellow over a bright peach base. Swatched on eyelid over Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden. The shift is visible but not super strong. Generally, the color looks like an orange-y peach with a golden shimmer, although it does show an almost green shift when hit just right with light. Compared to some of the other duochromes, this shade actually works decently on bare skin. Glitter primer did not seem to make much of a difference in bringing out the shift.

Wayward Son

Wayward Son is a duochrome light green over a pale blue base. Swatched on eyelid over Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden and Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy. The shift in the this shade is fairly apparent — it shifts between a cool light blue and a muted gray-green. Because this shadow has a more glittery consistency, it doesn’t work well on bare skin. It will apply decently over regular primer, but works best over glitter primer.

A collection inspired by cryptozoology that features a shade for each US state’s official mythological monster

Spring-Heeled Jack

Spring-Heeled Jack is a duochrome blue-violet over a matte red-orange base. Swatched on eyelid over Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden. The shift is very strong and ranges from purple to blue to bronze, but the red-orange base is pretty much also visible. This shade actually performs pretty well on bare skin but has a little stronger shift over primer. Due to its matte base, it’s best to not use it with glitter primer. Note that the sample bag pictured above was received as a gift with purchase; Notoriously Morbid loose eyeshadows are generally only sold in jars and not sample bags.
